Demon Hunter Vex-Prologue
It seemed to be the greatest insult to the struggling people of the Lower City that the most vunerable of all the citizens, the orphans, should be housed in one of the most dilapidated buildings in the old quarter. But however insulted they may have been they did nothing to prevent the suffering of these poor, small unfortunates.Everyone,it seemed, had thier own hardships to deal with.
It was a dismal night in the city of Arashikurai, the rain lashed down upon the orphanage,it's leaking roof barely able to contain the deluge. The children shivered in the cold darkness of their dormitory, although they were constan
A mood of dreadfull oppession began to descend on the building,as if it were falling with the rain. The children were gripped in the power of a terrifying fear, they were almost paralysed by it and could not move from their beds.
Then, with an ear shattering crash the windows imploded in a million deadly splintering shards of glass! This was not due to the storm, this was an invasion!
At first the children thought they must be dreaming, after all how could someone jump through a window on the top floor? But the chill of the night and the rain penetrating the room told them tha
There was no escape, the door to the dormitory was always kept locked at night and the only other exit was the window from which the beast had entered.Outside the door the priests and nuns who ran the orphanage desperately tried in vain to get to the children, but it resolutely refused to open,as if someone was holding it from the other side with a grip of iron.No matter how hard they turned the key it would not budge. It was awful, they could hear the pitifull cries but were powerless to help.

He felt as if his body was burning in a white hot fire, it was unbelieveably agonising, he screamed as bolt of blue lightning erupted from inside of him striking the creature a terrible blow!
The other children didn't know what to be more frightened of; the monster, or their small but powerful friend. A frightful t
The boy gazed dispassionately at the twisted corpse, his pain and agony had ceased, and he had stopped glowing. However,he had not returned to his origional appearence, and in fact never would......
Finally the priest in charge of the orphanage managed to get the door open. The key turned smoothly, and the Father and two elderly nuns fell through the doorway. They expected to find the children dead or mutilated, they expected to see a knife weilding madman or a psycho on the rampage, they never expected the unbelieveable sight that greeted their eyes.
The children were all huddled together in one corner of the room, some whimpering, but most too afraid to cry.Their saviour stood over his kill, absent mindedly prodding at it with his small, bare toes to see if it was really dead.A rottenstinking vapor rose from the monster's corpse making
